Searching Lab Results

This section describes the Find Lab Results function, which allows you to perform an ad hoc search for lab results that have been received for a particular patient, or across all of the patients in your organization. Search criteria can be entered in the Normals/Out of Range, Finals/Partials, Reviewed/Not Reviewed, Requisition, Ordered By, Collected Date, Reported Date, Patient Name, Patient ID, Social Security Number, and Accession areas.

After you have performed a search and have received the results, you can print those results as needed. When you print search results, the printout also displays any search criteria that were specified when the search was performed.

Notes:

• All boxes use an implied wildcard search at both the beginning and end of the characters entered. For example, typing jon in the Patient Name box would find both “Jones” and “Jonstone.”

• If you want to search for results with advisory messages, you must generate the Advisory Message report. For more information on Advisory Message reports, see View Advisory Messages.
