Writing Radiology Orders using Care360 EHR

Care360 EHR not only provides you with the ability to create radiology orders, but also stores an electronic copy of the finalized order in a patient’s summary, allows you to print or fax the finalized order, and allows you to track the status of the result.

A finalized radiology order contains patient information, organization information, order information (including diagnoses, the procedure to be performed, instructions, allergies, a prior authorization number [if required]), and the status of the result. Additionally, you can print and sign a physical copy of the order so it can be handed to the patient or fax the order to the appropriate radiology department.

Radiology orders are initiated through an encounter note, the Write a Radiology Order link in the Radiology Orders section of a patient’s summary page, or by using the Radiology > Place Order menu option. Once initiated, the radiology order remains in the Orders queue until a task is assigned (and the radiology order is automatically marked in progress) or finalized. An order that is in progress can be completed by either yourself or the user to whom the task has been assigned. At a later time, an in progress order can be accessed from the Radiology Orders tab of the all radiology orders and results page, the Radiology Orders section of a patient’s summary page, or from the Order Tasks tab of the tasks inbox. Finalized radiology orders can be accessed the Radiology Orders tab of the all radiology orders and results page or the Radiology Orders section of a patient’s summary page.
