Set Result Preferences for an Organization

1 In the information bar, click Admin > Organization Preferences.

2 On the Organization Preferences page, scroll to the Results section.

3 In the New Lab Results and Clinical Documents area, click the appropriate option button to specify how results or documents are removed from the New Lab Results and New Clinical Documents lists, as outlined below:

Clear manually. A result or document is never removed automatically; it can only be removed manually. For instructions on removing a lab result from the New Lab Results list, see Remove Results in the New Lab Results List , for instructions on removing a document from the New Clinical Documents list, see Remove Documents in the Clinical Documents List.

Clear when printed. A result or document is removed after it is printed by any user within the organization.

Note: Uploaded documents are not cleared from the new clinical documents page when they are printed.

Clear when viewed. A result or document is removed after it is viewed by any user within the organization.

4 In the Number of Days to Keep New Results box, type the number of days that lab results or clinical documents should remain accessible from the New Lab Results or New Clinical Documents lists (14 days is the maximum).

Each result or document is automatically removed from this list once it has reached the specified number of days.

5 In the Lab Forwarding Policy area, do the following:

Note: If your organization orders lab tests through Solstas® Lab Partners, the patient will automatically receive lab results based upon MyQuest policies. For additional information on how MyQuest releases lab results, refer to the MyQuest FAQs.

a Specify the type of results that you want to send to participating patients via e-Patient Link:

Select the Forward Normal Results check box to automatically send incoming results that are normal (with an order status of Final or Corrected).

Select the Forward Out of Range Results check box to automatically send incoming results that are marked out of range () (with an order status of Final or Corrected).

Note: You cannot select out of range only as your results release policy. You must select both normal and out of range to include out of range results in your release policy.

Clear both check boxes if you do not want to forward results.

b In the Delay Hours box, type the number of hours that you want to delay the results release from the time that they are received.

This delay provides you with an opportunity to review the results before they are sent to the e‑Patient Link.

6 To save the organization preferences, click Set.

Any changes you make to your organization preference settings take effect immediately.
