Generating an Audit Report

Generating an Audit report allows you to view recently audited actions taken by users within your organization as well as actions automatically performed by the Care360 Labs & Meds, ePrescribing, and EHR applications. For example, logging into the application, or overriding a patient’s consent preference, produces an auditable action. The action is recorded in the auditing database along with information on the date and time the action occurred, a description of the action taken, an event ID number associated with the action, and the login name of the user that initiated the audited event.

You can generate an Audit report using a combination of search criteria. This includes searching by a begin date and end date, a specific user within your organization, a particular patient, or the alert type that was generated by an auditable event.

The Audit report includes the following information per audit event:

Date/Time. The date and time the audit record was generated.

Event Description. A short description of the action taken by a user. Events such as Update Allergy or Update Problem provide additional information about the specific data that has changed. You can view this additional information by clicking any Event Description that is a link.

Type. The area of the application where the action occurred (for example, login, audit log, encounter note, patient summary,

User Name (login name). The login name of the person who performed the action.

Patient Name. The name of the patient (if applicable) that is associated with the action.

Outcome. The result of the action (for example, success or failure).

Action. The type of action that was performed (for example, create, view, print, etc.).

Notes:

Users that are assigned the Phlebotomist or Clinical Lab Staff role cannot generate an Audit report.

The Audit report has a maximum limit of 500 entries. If you generate a report that contains more than 500 entries, you will need to narrow your search criteria by selecting a smaller date range, or searching for a particular user or patient.

The Audit report can display up to 31 days of audited activity. If you need to view more than 31 days of audited activity, you must generate multiple reports in 31 day increments.
