All diagnostic results for a patient (even if they still appear on the New Clinical Documents list) are accessible from the patient’s summary. You can view the most recent diagnostic results for a patient on the patient’s summary in the Diagnostics section, or you can click the View All link to access all diagnostic results for the patient.

While viewing the View All Diagnostic Results page, you can do the following:

Associate a diagnostic description to a result. A diagnostic description associates a procedure code, a result value, and relevant comments with the uploaded or electronic document. Diagnostic descriptions are used by Clinical Quality Measure reports for Meaningful Use.

Change the document type. Only documents categorized under Diagnostics appear as diagnostics results. Categorizing the document as something other then diagnostics moves it to the appropriate area. Additionally, if you have a diagnostic description, changing the document type to anything other than a radiology or diagnostics document type, removes the diagnostics description (and impacts Meaningful Use reporting).

Associate a diagnostic image with the appropriate result. Any image that has been uploaded or electronically received with a document type of Diagnostic Results Image can be associated with a diagnostics report. Diagnostic images can then be accessed while viewing the report.
