Enabling or Disabling OB Features

The OB header and flowsheets, as well as features for entering or printing the data, display only for Providers, Clinicians, and Clinical Office Staff when a patient is currently, or was previously, identified as being pregnant. The following features are available from a patient’s encounter note when the patient is identified as being pregnant:

The OB header and flowsheets display at the top of the encounter note. For more information about header or flowsheets, see Using the OB Header and Flowsheets.

The OB Data link can be used to enter pregnancy header data. For information about entering OB header data, see Document Pregnancy Header Information .

Note: While a patient is identified as being pregnant, any header data in the most recent encounter note is automatically included in the pregnancy header and in the body of a new encounter note. If necessary, you can edit the header data. For more information, see Document Pregnancy Header Information .

The Pregnancy Flowsheet link can be used to enter pregnancy flowsheet data, including comments. For information about entering pregnancy flowsheet data, see Document Pregnancy Flowsheet Data.

Note: Pregnancy flowsheet data can also be entered by clicking the Add button from the Pregnancy flowsheet tab.

The Other OB Tests link can be used to enter labs flowsheet data. For information about manually entering OB labs flowsheet data, see Document Other OB Lab Tests.

Note: Labs flowsheet data can be added manually in an encounter note by clicking the Other OB Tests link, or by clicking the Add Other OB Tests button in the Labs flowsheet tab of a new or in progress note. Lab orders can also be initiated from the Labs flowsheet tab of a new or in progress note by clicking the Order Labs button. Any lab orders placed in Care360 EHR for a patient, including those placed outside of the encounter note within the last 48 hours, will automatically appear in the Labs flowsheet and in the encounter note body. In addition, system-received or manually entered lab results will also appear in the Labs flowsheet. For information about placing lab orders, from within or outside of an encounter note, see Order Entry.

The OB Education Flowsheet link can be used to enter patient obstetric education flowsheet data. For information about entering OB patient education data, see Document OB Education Flowsheet Details.

The Print OB Data option is available in the print menu (located in the upper-right corner of the patient summary) when viewing an encounter note for a patient who is currently identified as being pregnant, or when viewing in progress or finalized encounter notes containing OB header and flowsheet data. For more information about printing the OB header and Pregnancy and Labs flowsheet data, see Print the OB Header and Flowsheets.

The Print Antepartum Package option is available in the print menu (located in the upper-right corner of the patient summary) when the selected patient has at least one valid encounter note which was created while they were identified as being pregnant. For more information about printing the antepartum package, see Print an Antepartum Package.

Note: If you choose to disable the OB features, the header and flowsheet data is still viewable from any encounter note created for the patient while the features were enabled.
