Forward a Fax

1 Click the Message Center tab.

2 In the Faxes menu, click Sent Faxes, Deleted Faxes, or Failed Faxes.

3 In the fax lists, select the subject of the fax that you want to forward.

4 In the fax content, click Forward.

The fax composition page appears with some of the fields automatically populated with information from the original fax. All clinical attachments are also automatically attached to the forwarded fax.

Note: You cannot change the subject, clinical attachments, or add any additional information to the message included with the forwarded fax.

5 To manually specify the fax recipient, do the following:

a Type the name of the recipient in the To box.

Tip: To quickly search the Contacts list by name, type the first three letters of the fax recipient’s name in the To box and then click the name of the fax recipient in the search results list that appears.

b Type the fax number for the recipient in the Fax Number box.

c Type the recipient’s organization name in the Organization box.

Notes:  

Click Add to Contacts if you want to save the recipient to your organization’s Contacts list.

Fax numbers are accessible from the Contacts list. For more information about viewing and managing fax numbers from the Contacts list, see Managing the Contacts List.

6 To specify fax recipients by selecting them from a list, click in the To box, and then do one of the following:

Click the Search tab. Do the following:

a Type the search criteria for the fax recipient in the boxes and then click Search.

b In the list of search results, select the appropriate recipient, and then click Add.

Click the Fax Recipients tab. Do the following:

a Click a letter or the number sign to view favorite recipients beginning with the selected letter or numbers or characters. Click All to view all fax recipients.

b Select the line that contains the appropriate recipient and then click Add.

Notes:  

A favorite radiology facility will be identified in the list with Radiology next to the recipient name. You can manage favorite fax numbers for radiology facilities from the Favorite Fax Numbers page. For more information, see Managing the Contacts List.

You cannot send a fax to multiple recipients. To send the same fax to more than one recipient, you must compose a new fax for each recipient or forward the fax to the new recipient in the Sent Faxes list.

Tip: Click Edit (next to the recipient's name) to edit the contact (name, Direct address, fax number, or organization name) or click to remove the contact from your organization’s Contacts list. Fax favorites can also be managed from the Contacts list. For more information about managing favorites from the Contacts list, see Managing the Contacts List.

Click the Last 20 tab. In the list of recent recipients, click the option button next to the appropriate recipient, and then click Add.

Note: You cannot send a fax to multiple recipients. To send the same fax to more than one recipient, you must compose a new fax for each recipient or forward the fax to the new recipient in the Sent Faxes list.

7 In the Reason for Disclosure box, change the reason for disclosure, if necessary.

8 Click Send.

Note: The forwarded fax is a copy of the original and is NOT associated with the original fax once it is sent. The forwarded fax is listed separately in the Sent Faxes list.
