One of the following occurs:

If you assigned radiology orders to a user, an order task is created and assigned to the selected user with the current date as its due date. Order tasks then appear in the Order Tasks tab of the tasks inbox, as well as the Patient Tasks section of the patient’s summary. The order remains in progress until the assigned user finalizes the order.

If you selected Fax and Finalize, the order is finalized and immediately faxed to the specified location. A copy of the fax is saved to the patient’s Sent Faxes list and each order is saved to the patient’s list of all finalized radiology orders.

Notes:

A fax is created per location. If the same location is selected for multiple radiology orders, the orders will be combined into a single fax.

If an error occurs while faxing the radiology order, the order will be available in the Failed Faxes list. For more information about managing failed faxes, see View a Sent or Failed Fax and Resend a Fax .

If you selected Finalize, the order is finalized and placed in the patient’s summary.
