Tasks

This section provides information about creating tasks for yourself or other users in your organization. It includes instructions for creating tasks, viewing tasks, updating the status of a task, and marking a task as erroneous, complete, or retracted.

Care360 Labs & Meds, ePrescribing, and EHR provides several different task types. Task types are as follows:

General tasks. A general task is a request from one user to another to complete an action; such as calling a patient to inform them about a lab result or ordering additional office supplies.

A general task can reference a specific patient and document (but does not have to) and can contain a short message, a subject, and a due date to ensure that it is completed in a timely manner.

Patient contact reminders. A patient contact reminder is a request from one user to another to contact a patient with information relating to a lab result, radiology result, follow-up appointment, medication, or any other patient‑related information.

A patient contact reminder references a specific patient and can contain a short message, a subject, and a due date to ensure that it is completed in a timely manner.

Notes:

Only Care360 EHR organizations can view, create or manage patient contact reminders.

If patient contact reminders is disabled, you will only be able to view and manage existing patient contact reminder tasks from a patient’s summary.

Order tasks. An order task is a request from one user to another to indicate that a lab or radiology order needs to be completed and submitted for a patient. Lab and radiology order tasks must be created from the Review screen while writing an order; however, once created, order tasks can be managed and viewed from the Order Tasks tab on the tasks inbox or from the Patient Tasks section of the patient’s summary.

An order task references a specific patient and an order for specific tests and can contain a short message. For instructions on writing a lab or radiology order and creating an order task during the ordering process, see the following:

Notes:

Only Care360 EHR organizations can view, create, or manage radiology order tasks.

Only Care360 EHR users with Provider Orders can view, create, or manage lab tasks.

Amendment tasks. An amendment task is a request from one user to another to follow up on requests from patients, patient representatives, providers, and organizations to amend a patient’s information.

An amendment task references a specific patient and contains information about the requestor, a description of the requested amendment, and a due date to ensure that it is completed in a timely manner. Additionally, amendment requests can be marked as either accepted or denied.

Note: Only Care360 EHR organizations can view, create, or manage amendment tasks.
