The Message Center Tab > Patient Results > Viewing New Lab Results > Resolve Unassigned Lab Results

Resolve Unassigned Lab Results

1 From the Message Center tab, click Quick View.

2 In the alerts area, click the Resolve link next to the message: You have unassigned clinical data.

Note: The Unassigned Clinical Data area appears on the Quick View page only when you have ambiguous results or ambiguous encounter notes. For more information on resolving unassigned encounter notes, see Resolving Unassigned Encounter Notes.

The unassigned clinical data page appears, displaying a list of any results that you have received that could not be sufficiently matched to an existing patient.

While viewing the results, you can re‑sort the list, as needed, by clicking the appropriate column heading; clicking the column heading a second time reverses the sort.

3 From the Labs tab, do one or more of the following to review an unassigned result:

To review the summary for the patient that Care360 Labs & Meds, ePrescribing, or EHR has temporarily associated with the result, click the patient’s name.

To review additional patient information, including the patient’s date of birth, Social Security Number, and address, position the pointer over in the Patient Name column.

To view the result in PDF, click next to the requisition number.

Note: If an enhanced report is available for a result, appears with the requisition number. Enhanced reports are those that contain more than simple lists of data, such as an Anatomic Pathology (AP) report which contains photomicrographs of tissue or blood samples, and a pathologist's report of the diagnosis.

If the Interactive Insights report view is selected, you can click the enhanced icon in the Unassigned Clinical Data list to access the enhanced report PDF; otherwise, the icon is simply an indicator.

To review the result data below the Unassigned Clinical Data list, click the requisition number of that result. For more information about actions you can take while viewing the result, see Viewing New Lab Results .

4 To resolve an unassigned result, click the Resolve link in the Actions column for the associated requisition number.

Care360 Labs & Meds, ePrescribing, or EHR displays the content of the result, as well as a list of any patients that it determines may be a potential match for the result.

5 Do one of the following:

To associate the result to an existing patient of your organization, click the option button next to that patient, and then click OK.

To add a new patient to your organization, using the demographic data included with the result, click Add As New Patient.

The result is saved to the selected patient’s summary, and is removed from the Unassigned Clinical Data list.
