The Patient Tab > Clinical Notes > Resolving Unassigned Encounter Notes > Resolve Unassigned Encounter Notes

Resolve Unassigned Encounter Notes

1 On the Message Center tab, click Quick View.

2 In the alerts area, click Resolve next to the message: You have unassigned clinical data.

The You have unassigned clinical data message only appears in the alerts area when your organization has ambiguous results or ambiguous notes. For more information on resolving unassigned lab results, see Resolve Unassigned Lab Results .

3 Click the Encounter Notes tab.

4 Do one or more of the following to learn more about the unassigned clinical data:

To review the summary for the patient that Labs & Meds has temporarily associated with the note, click the patient’s name.

To review additional patient information, including the patient’s date of birth, Social Security Number, and address, position the pointer over in the Patient Name column.

To review the detail of a note, click the Description of that note.

The content of the note appears below the Unassigned Clinical Data list.

5 Click Resolve in the Actions column for the appropriate note.

6 Do one of the following:

To associate the note to a patient who already exists within organization, click the option button next to that patient’s name, and then click OK.

To add a new patient to your organization, using the demographic data included with the note, click Add As New Patient.

Note: If you inadvertently associate an unassigned note with the wrong patient, you can manually associate the note to a different patient; for instructions, see Move Clinical Activities.
