The Patient Tab > The Patient Summary > Patient Communication > Address Patient Link Requests from the Quick View Page

Address Patient Link Requests from the Quick View Page

1 Access the Quick View page.

2 Review the alerts area, and then click the Resolve link next to patient link requests.

3 On the pending link requests page, do the following to approve link requests and begin to send results to the patient(s):

Note: Patients are listed in descending date order.

a Select the check box to the left of the patient name (you can select one or multiple patients), or select all of the patients by selecting the check box in the header column to the left of the Patient Name column.

b Specify a lab result forwarding policy or send historical lab results by doing the following:

i In the Lab Result Forwarding Policy area, you can either choose to use the organization policy (which is selected by default), or you can turn the organization policy off (by clearing the Use Organization Policy check box), and then specify the results that you want to send.

Note: To learn more about setting the organization policy that specifies how results are sent to an individual e‑Patient, see Setting System Preferences .

ii To specify the results that you want to send (if you are not using the organization policy):

Select the Forward Normal Results check box to automatically send incoming results that are normal (with an order status of Final and/or Corrected).

Select the Forward Out of Range Results check box to automatically send incoming results that are marked out of range () or priority out of range () (with an order status of Final or Corrected).

Note: If you want to automatically forward out of range results, you must select both the Forward Normal Results and Forward Out of Range Results check boxes to include out of range results in your results forward policy.

iii In the Delay Hours box, type the number of hours that you want to delay the results release from the time that they are received. This delay provides you with an opportunity to review the results before they are sent to the e‑Patient Link.

Note: Once a delay has been set and a result is received by Care360 Labs & Meds or Care360 EHR, the result is managed by the currently set delay time period. Any delay in sending the result to an e-Patient will be managed by the policy set when the result was received and not based on any changes made while the result was being delayed.

iv In the Send Historical Lab Results area, type the number of months (prior to the current month) that you want to send lab results.

v Specify the results that you want to send in bulk:

Select the Send Normal Results check box to bulk send results that are normal (with an order status of Final and/or Corrected).

Select the Send Out of Range Results check box to bulk send results that are marked out of range () (with an order status of Final and/or Corrected).

vi Click Approve.

Tip: If you send a result as part of a bulk send and also send it individually, the patient will receive duplicate results in the e-Patient. You can verify that the results were sent to the e-Patient by viewing the e-Patient Sent Log tab. For more information on viewing the e-Patient Sent Log tab, see View the e-Patient Sent Log for a Lab Result.

Once a patient link request is approved (or established), you can continue sending results to the e-Patient using the organization policy or bulk send features from the patient summary, or you can select and send individual results from the patient summary or any other area where results can be viewed.

For more information on sending results to an e-Patient once the connection is established, see Sending Results to an e‑Patient.

4 To deny a patient link request, after selecting the appropriate patient(s), click Decline, and then click OK to confirm that you want to deny the link request.

Note: Even if you decline a patient link request, you can still receive link requests from this patient in the future.
